little ringed plover in nepal

Description:
Little Ringed Plover are small wader (long legged found near water resources) birds with yellow legs and eye ring , white belly, dark bill, brown wings and neck band. Both gender look alike and its size is similar to a sparrow. They feed on insects, spiders, worms and seeds of water plants. They make nests of plant leftovers, mosses nearby riverside, lakeside, or any other fresh water resources. Their breeding season falls from April to June when the female bird lays eggs of clutch sized three - four. Their lifespan is around 4 years. They are seen in Bardia of Nepal.
Common Name:little ringed plover, laghu rajputrika,लघु राजपुत्रिका
Scientific Name: Charadrius dubius
Weight: 22–63 grams
Color: yellow legs and eye ring , white belly, dark bill, brown wings and neck band
Length: 11-12 cms
